Questions families ask
How is my swimmer placed in a level?
At a placement visit, a short time in the water with an instructor. The instructor suggests a level and a cap color, and you pick a class from the schedule.
What is a level?
A level is a group of skills, from blowing bubbles to the four strokes, with a cap color so everyone at the pools can see where a class is. Ages are a guide, and the instructor decides when a swimmer moves up.
Which pool will my swimmer use?
Getting started and Floating and kicking classes are in the baby pool. Gliding, Freestyle and back crawl, and Four strokes are in the main pool.
How long is a class?
Getting started and Floating and kicking classes last half an hour. The other three levels last forty-five minutes.
What do we bring?
A towel, goggles if your swimmer likes them, and a swimsuit or swim shirt. We ask every swimmer to wear a cap in their level's color.
Where do parents watch?
From the lounge behind the window, or from the deck by the steps. Brothers and sisters are welcome beside you.
What if we miss a class?
We offer a make-up in the same term, in a class of the same level that has room. Ask at the front desk or call.
How do the summer weeks work?
Each summer week is a run of morning lessons at one level, Monday to Friday. Ask the front desk which weeks have room.
Can my swimmer try a class first?
